A Foolish Fruit Salad

A Happy April Fool's Day from your favorite semi-humble fool! Today's post is going to be short. It's actually kind of a dare. But we will get to that in a moment.

There is a saying that knowledge is learning that tomatoes are a fruit but that wisdom is knowing that you probably shouldn't add it to fruit salad.

I'd like to add a corollary to this rule: Foolishness is making a fruit salad with tomatoes anyway because you think it might be fun.

And what did I do last night? Well, I made myself a foolish fruit salad. And then I ate it in the dark so that I didn't have a full idea as to what kind of flavor any particular bite would give me. I had a great time.

I ate the whole thing before I thought to take a picture of it so here's a leftover grape posing for the camera on my keyboard.

Now for the dare! I, Dewy, formally dare you, the person reading this, to make yourself a foolish meal of some sorts. For the fun of it. And then, I want you to enjoy the weirdness of your creation. You don't have to finish it (though you get better bragging rights if you do), but you should at least try it.

The great thing about this dare is that I'm sure something you have on hand (or can get your hands on) comes to mind. The other great thing about this dare is that it doesn't expire. Yeah, today is the formal "Fool's Day", but what good fool has let formality stop them from engaging in some foolishness when the opportunity presents itself?

I look forward to (hopefully) randomly hearing about various food combinations for the rest of my life. And to anyone who says this is a waste of food: It is if you're a coward.
