That gnawing ache
that hurts by inches.
All afflicted will break
before its petite pinches.
Sinisterly simple statements
stick as cerebral cement.
As the sickened soul spirals,
it screams out in lament:
"There has to be more;
this can't be it.
If this is all life is,
I might as well quit.
There must be something
beyond what I've seen.
This cannot be all
that is and has been."
We need our adventure,
to be in constant mystery.
It's all figured out on land,
so we instead take to the sea.
